Tirana Mother Teresa Airport (Tirana-Rinas Airport until 2003) is an international airport, located near the village of Rinas, 17 km north-west of Tirana city centre. Built between 1954 and 1957 and opened in 1958, as a military airport. The largest airport in Albania. It handled 3,338,147 passengers in 2019. In 2003, it was named after Mother Teresa of Calcutta in connection with her beatification.
